but did not book on either occasion. Was there right on opening first time so upstairs not open. Second visit, was seated upstairs.

Anybody who remembers me from my Golden Bali Travel (Adelaide) days will know that I provided all guests with an introductory letter to La Lucciola Management. I had never been disappointed over all the years this iconic restaurant has been open.

These were my first breakfasts and based on reports here on BTF I expected everything to be top class.

Welcome on both mornings was as would be expected here and staff impeccably dressed and groomed. Service, particularly on second visit, left much to be desired - very patchy! (whilst still warm and friendly). Food was fine - but certainly not exciting - long waiting times. Always a distressing thing for me is, having clearly indicated to waiter that nothing else is needed, an interminable wait for the bill to be presented. On each visit had to make a determined effort to entice waiter to bring bill (was on tight schedule as needed to attend conference at BICC, Nusa Dua and "La Luc" was en route from where staying in Umalas.

Atmosphere, location and presentation is superb but felt that perhaps not so much attention to detail when it comes to food preparation and presentation as previously.

Would have liked to make it for dinner when I could have made a true comparison from previous visits.

Having said all that, prices were more than reasonable for the quality of the location and its overall ambience.
