We go for business, so shopping is the main reason.
But as we both work 7 days a week, its the perfect place to:
* De-stress - as you slow down to 'Bali Time'
* Forget all your worries - they are too far away to be of concern anyway
* Catch up with friends - you make time to do it, instead of putting it off because you are too busy
I think Bali is addictive because you are so welcomed, almost like you are family, i love hearing the 'hello, goodmorning, how are you' of a morning whilst they are busy getting ready for the day - here in Australia your just another face.
When i am walking of a morning here in Australia i purposely say 'good morning and/or how are you' to everyone i pass (its my Bali Survey), its surprising how many bother to reply (not many). And the looks from some of the people, like why are you talking to me.
We all seem to get caught up in life, too busy, not enough hours in the day, and forget the little stuff thats more important - taking time out to smell the roses.
In Bali, we all take time to smell the roses, shame not more people do the same in their own country. I think there is alot of 'life' lessons to be learnt from the Balinese.
I think thats why we crave to return - its a reality check!!!
