Just got back on Saturday flying Garuda with my 2 daughters and 3 grand children aged 11, 6 and 1 .
The Garuda flight over was good, cabin crew weren't that helpful or friendly, but at least we took off on time and arrived there safely.
We were picked up by our hotel bus. We stayed at the Ramayana in interconnecting rooms. I really like the Ramayana, great location, convenient to beach, markets and Matahari. The rooms are quite spacious and we needed it as my youngest daughter Kylie had her almost 1 year old son and you can imagine all the baby gear required. I did have reservations as to how it would go with such a little baby in Bali but he was just great, so happy all the time and we had no problems with the pram on the streets. And my 6 year old grandson, was just a favourite with all the Balinese. Blonde hair, blue eyes and so cute. He was so good, and loved Bali, ate well and never complained once.
My grand daughter Danielle is 11 and it was her first time to Bali and she loved it too.
We went to Waterbom Park and even I climbed up those 90 steps 4 times to slide down the slides with my grandson. It was fun. He really loved it, especially the kiddie pool where the bucket fills up and tips over. He thought that was just the best, but to be truthful that water comes down with a thump, it even pushed my head under the water!! We spent nearly the whole day there.
We ate mostly around the hotel, easy for the pram. Bali Blessing, Bali Bagia and Sendok. All very cheap .
Every morning I got up about 6.15 and walked along the beach for an hour. Its so good that time of the morning and there are hundreds on the beach even at that time. All the fitness fanatics, Balinese jogging, exercising or just having fun. I really miss that.
I got all my bed runners made at a shop called Azalea Moda in Seminyak. They are the things that you have at the bottom of your bed. The ones I got are like a satin all decorated with sequins and beads and all beads hanging from each side. I got white, cream, burgundy, chocolate and gold and the cushion covers to match. They are beautiful and look gorgeous on my beds. And soo cheap for the work, and especially what you pay back here.
