It is fairly hot in October - but mostly dry heat. I would never go in the Wet Season - too unhealthy not to mention uncomfortable with the very high humidity & inconvenient with the sudden, heavy rain. I realise many people have no option but to go during the Xmas school hols period (which is why it's more expensive then), but if you can avoid it, do so. I'd opt for October.
