When Jetstar offer specials, these fares are often less than the going Garuda fare. Garuda sometimes bring out specials as well and it is difficult to know when this will occur, often it is in direct response to Jetstar releasing low fares. More likely to get cheaper fares out of school holidays. My understanding is at present there is a fare Garuda are offering for travel up to Sept that is around 695 plus 300 odd in taxes... it really is best to check both airlines and impossible to say when it will be definitely cheaper for you to go.
