Don't know where you are staying in bali but the paradise plaza suites in sanur are great for families.
The 3 bedroom suites have 2 bathrooms, large kitchens with a family sized fridge and lots of space. The kids pool is huge and has a great slippery dip.
Although not on the beach, there are regular shuttle buses or you can get a cab for around $2. There's also a complimentary bus to kuta (but you have to make your own way back). The suites have there own beach facilities near the bonsai cafe part of the beach.
The shuttle bus stops at the huge Hardy's supermarket at sanur though there is a smaller but well stocked supermarket about 5 minutes walk away along the main road.
The suites are advertised everywhere but the hotel web site rates are probably the cheapest you will get.
