The poster asked for cheap restaurants which is what I provided. I have a restaurant list that is now over 30 pages long, from cheap to expensive. Your dad's even has a review.
Just because I didn't rave about your dad's restaurant.

I thought it was nice. Service first time was ordinary. Your dad seemed nice but was rushing out the door to take you to the airport so I thought I'd go back.
Your mum and dad came in. Dad walked around talking to the other tables. Mum sat talking on the mobile at the bar next to my table. As I said food was great. Service was OK. Decor OK too (better than the previous place).
If they want to survive take a leaf out of Kerry and Milton's (Indonational) book. While I don't normally eat there they know how to make a business work.
