I find that the Ubud Tourist Information Office in the main street is the best place to find out about dance performances. They can also sell the tickets for that nights performance. Some of the pewrformances are in nearby villages and they can arrange transport to and from these performances.
As well there are touts wandering around who will also sell tickets for that nights performance.
The major types of performances are:
* Legong;
* Kecak; and
* Barong
At the performance itself, the attendants usually hand out a synopsis of the plot in English. The plots are all taken from a very long Hindu epic called the Ramayana.
