I did not stay, but had a really good look thru last june as we were preparing for a holidays with our daughter and kids. The hotel itself is really nicely appointed, and the family rooms I saw were beautifully decorated. I used their small Spa Salon, and that was reasonably priced too. The Mecure is situated right down the very south of Sanur, but you still have access to the beach walking path, but you really are quite a way from any of the main group of restaurants except the hotels virtually next door, and of course all the wonderful beach cafes. We have small grandkids who would not walk the distance, but I think you'd find it ok with a 12yo. Kids club looked pretty good, altho I did not see any kids.
