We are never going to Dreamland Beach again, even though it is nearest to where we stay. All the old warungs and "surfie" accommodation has been demolished. A new five star villa/hotel complex is under construction at the top of the cliff and will extend down to the beach. The place has no character now. Everything is for the well off tourist and every money grabbing opportunity is taken, 10 000Rp for the car park, 5 000Rp for toilet, 10 000Rp for a shower. At the moment there is only one food outlet, naturally with inflated prices and less choice. we didn't stay long enough to find the price of beach chairs and umbrellas as we were so devastated about the new developments. Dreamland beach has been killed and is now only memories.
