might be a bit low for what you are looking for if in Ubud - you might get a local house outside Ubud as previous poster said, but mostly they want 12 month contracts - rent paid in full for the 12 months up front. You will generally not have hot water, and you will have Indonesian bathroom i.e. squat toilet and cold water mandi (tub with a scoop). If renting by the month you will pay more.
You might need to look at doubling your budget - and dropping the hot water idea. You might not get a kitchen for that price.
