Hi, I went to Phuket some years ago and had a great time, thought it was beautiful, loved the food etc. Then I went to Bali, not expecting to like it, but loved it. I'm now an absolute Bali convert, got back a few weeks ago and are already planning our next trip with friends. We did try Koh Samui last year, which might be a little more similar to Bali than Phuket. You might need to give Thailand a go, I'm sure you'll love it and at the worst you'll confirm for yourself what makes Bali so special.
