i went to bali for first time last year and can't wait to return.
I travelled alone and felt PERFECTLY safe, even going to clubs in Kuta. For most of the time, I didn't really think about what had happened re bombings apart from talking to the driver or locals about it being quiet after the bombings. Yeah sure, you have to remember to check that you have not had wallet stolen or something but you gotta do that anywhere. I got my dvds from Bali Gong Shop. All good quality. email Dede on ddbaligong@hotmail.com with your list and ask him for Sydney bank account details for payment. He will post to Australia.
As for security in Bali, It is a lot more stringent than before, having watched several documentries on Indonesia, They are always on the lookout for strange behaviour. If you are a little worried, I suggest staying out of the main Kuta Legian tuban area. try Sanur or Seminyak or even further North in the country like Ubud or Candi Dasa or something.
As for me, Can't wait to get back to Kuta...
