Hi Kawrider I just got back Monday after a month of work and fun, I feel you would be much safer in Bali than Thailand. Bali was fairly busy and from all reports it looks heavily booked from the next few months through the rest of the season, so if you are going, book soon. The weather cleaned up after Nypie (as predicted by local friends)and my last surf at Legian found the water ok and quite clean. Your partner may like Legian as it offers good shopping, clothes dvd and great food and is quieter than Kuta, which may help settle any bomb pananora stress.I stay in private bungalow accom, if you want any detail feel free to email
