wrong with wanting to know about the beliefs, merely asked why. I certainly don't suggest anyone should not explore other beliefs but I do think that calling them superstitions is a derogatory term. If you were thinking of things like not stepping on cracks, throwing salt over your shoulder, crossing your fingers, touching wood etc, then superstition is the right word and if that is what you meant then I apologise.
