Arrived home today after 12 beautiful days in paradise. Myself, husband, Peter and son Aaron (almost 19) and daughter Ellie (almost 17). We flew out of Sydney on 5 March with Jetstar having purchased very cheap tickets in October last year. I cannot fault Jetstar at all. Having flown with Garuda before and also Air Paradise I found the service on Jetstar to be very good and the seats were comfortable. No complaints at all. Our driver, Rocky, picked us up at airport and delivered us to the Jayakarta. I had tried via email to book 300 block uneven numbers and was told all booked out but we were happy to be put in 400 block, but on arrival discovered that Wayan had put us into the 300 block so we were very happy with that. Just settled in and had early night. Next day didn't do much but did go to Bintang Supermarket to stock up on stuff as the next day is Nyepi. Laugh laugh cos hubby accidently gave taxi driver 300,000 instead of 30,000 got to watch the zeros. Had lunch at Joni's which is one of our favourite places. Walked to Legain street to watch the Ogah Ogah parade, didn't see much really cos we got hungry so went up to the Wayan Rama (not sure of name) and had dinner. Next day, Nyepi, confined to resort, which was ok as the weather is beautiful. The beach looked so strange with nobody on it. The pools all croweded with everyone here but the day was restful. Big storm at night during the dark. Saturday got the shuttle to Kuta and did some shopping, although not all shops were open. There were large markets on the beach which were fun. Had lunch at a place called The Breeze, it was ok. Back to the Jayakarta for more serious pool time. Dinner at the Zanzibar, very nice as always. Sunday our driver picked us up and took us to Kintamani. Wow it was very spectacular. Unfortunately it was a bit cloudy so we didn't get to see it too clearly but had a nice lunch there and the clouds and mist rolled in and it was very eerie, or "other worldly" being up in the clouds, but all in all a most enjoyable day. Back to resort and out to Lanai restaurant for dinner and enjoying the drums and fire twirlers. Legian Beach very crowded (or is it Blue Ocean Beach) love the atmosphere. Will write more later.
