I've been to Thailand twice, but I prefer Krabi to Phuket, it's more beautiful and only an hour (maybe two) away from Phuket, many small hotels and a nicer ambience and easy to make excursions to all the small islands closeby and to the Phi Phi islands. I myself am going back to Bali after 21 years and very excited because actually leaving this friday.
