both the quality of the white ink and your natural skin coloring any good tattooist with enough experience will use a quality ink, but also your skin color and how much you tan will change it. I have had my frangipani tattoo touched up twice and it has again faded to a skin tone where as I have seen others from the same artist hold the ink really well. I tan very easily as I have a european background. so i think if you have a fairer complexion you wont have any probs!
