My hubby prefers Phuket as he finds the people there not as much "in your face" as in Bali, whereas that is what I love about Bali. He likes the beaches better in Thailand and I agree with him there, the beaches are definitely better. In his opinion he thinks Phuket is a bit more upmarket than Bali....I tend to think that it is actually quite sleezy....lots of prostitutes and lady boys around. As far as food goes I think Bali and Phuket are pretty much on par with each other as far as variety and prices. I find the shopping more expensive in Phuket, others have said that yes they are more expensive but better quality, personally I didn't think they were but maybe it depends on what one buys? Anyway, don't let other peoples opinions put you off as this is a Bali forun after all and most people on here would be die hard Bali-ites, if you ask the same question on a Phuket forum then the answers would probably favour Phuket! And I go to Bali every year but I also go to other places with hubby and it makes me realise what I love about Bali when I go to other places!
