We have been once to both, I loved Phuket and had NO desire to go to Bali, but with family going we decided on Bali. Going again this year to Bali, again with family.
I feel/think:
More to see and do in Phuket than Bali.
Not sure which is cheaper, tours and things to see to me seemed around the same price.
Great food in both places, did not get as ill in Bali as we did in Phuket.
Hubby and me more relaxed in Bali than Phuket. But then Phuket was our 1st over seas holiday and we wanted to see and do EVERYTHING.
Better quality of clothing goods in Phuket than Baki.
Both places the people are lovely.
Found the water warmer for snokeling in Phuket than the same time in Bali, August.
Suggestions for Phuket, Simons Cabaret, Fantasea (great show, 25 elephants on stage at the same time), Speed boat to James Bond and Pipi Island, Elepant safari tour at the Karon mountain tribe, Zoo, Temple tour (private driver), ATV tour (hubby loved this) or just sit by the pool.
As I said going back to Bali again as family are going but I would definately go back to Phuket again. Both places offer different things to see and do. But do NOT go to Phuket expecting it to be Bali and visa versa.
