we have been to Bali 8 times and Phuket once. We liked most things in Phuket, scenery, beaches, nightlife, shows, food and some shopping. But Bali we love everything, except one thing, the gross smells from some markets. LOL For us we love the fact that Bali is only just over 3 hours whereas Phuket is over 5 and if you can't get a direct flight you have to catch 2 planes. We loved the boat trips in Phuket over to Phi Phi and James Bond Islands. But we have spoken to others who said they did not like them. Like all the others have said Phuket is more expensive. Everyones views and opinions are very different what we like you might detest. You will never know if you do not go yourself. I would say give it a try and make up your own mind.
