are made up of a combination of airport taxes including departure tax, airport levies like the Sydney noise levy, security levies and then the airlie surcharges like fuel surcharge etc. Airport and govt charges are only a small part of the surcharge with most of it being made up at the airlines discretion. If you have stop overs or are in transit you will also pay the relevent airport charges.
