is owned by a local - Agung.
Hence the name "Pasar Agung".
The land that Kuta Townhouses is on is owned by him.
The building is owned by a company owned by a couple of "white guys" and an Indonesian lady.
The apartments are sub let to "owners" for a lease period.
I can assure you that this is far from "my beloved KTH".
The location is great, and accomodation excellent, but there is often a catch to all this.
I believe that some previous JBRs have identified this.
My apartment is not part of the rental pool, and is not available for rental.
The reasons are not for discussion on an open forum.
The only affect that the fire may have on KTH could be access, which has always been a little tight.
Also, the parking situation will not improve with rebuilding going on, and the situation with parking at the moment is inadequate, without the extra burden.
Stage 2 KTH is being advertised as having parking available, but this is going to be totally inadequate for the number of people staying.
This will be the only affect on KTH by the fire.
As to rebuilding, lets hope businesses other than those burned are not affected (as this was essentially one long structure housing many small businesses)
I stand by the statement that the people worst affected (as always) will be the locals, and I still suspect that the event will open up additional oportunity for the local ex pat and other "white" investors to further dominate this area.
