Just a quick note to any travelers who are considering touring the Island of Bali!!! I am a long time return visitor of this lovely island, when i arrived i went to the usual haunt to hire a drive oly to find out the hotel was long gone. I had a look on the net and emailed a few from their websites and finally decided on Ketut (Check out www.baliexcellentdriver.com. In my past trips to Bali i have seen a lot of the main tourist things and wanted to show my partner the real bali. Ketut took us to some places that are not the nomral tourist areas. He is very knowledgeable, friendly and speaks pretty good english. He would take the time to explan about the Balineses philosophy and beliefs along with the cultural side of things. Some of the many interesting things he showed us were Balinese funeral/cremation ceremony, the rice fields and also showed and explained how the rice is grown/processed from the begining to the end product. His prices are very reasonable only Rp 400,000 per day (+/-AUD $47). Have a look at his website, also last but not least he is one of the very few private drivers who have a satisfaction guarantee, he asks at the end of each day if you enjoyed the day etc, if you didn't you don't have to pay.
