Don't know if this ir really an answer to your question but we just got back yesterday and on Monday we walked through the Kumala Pantai from the beach and through reception just for a quick look. I didn't notice any renovation work along the route we walked but then I really wasn't paying all that much attention and we certainly didn't explore much of the grounds, I have no idea how big it is in total. What we did see looked very nice, clean and modern. Hope that helps, cheers.
