Our cousin has been friends with a Balinese family for over 20 years and on their last trip they asked her not to buy such expensive gifts as other families get quite jealous. I have always taken gifts to a family in Bali also but because they live in a area where there are a lot of other children I now take enough so that the others get something also. Greatest thing about this is the children sit back and take what you give them and you don't get "but I want what she has".
