As everywhere in the world plastic is a huge pollution problem in Bali, possibly even more so - just inhale the vile scents of burning plastic in the evenings - YUK!!! See - or rather don't see - the views clouded by the many fires burning plastic.

As Holladaze says you're likely to get your bags wrapped in Oz then have to unwrap them for Check In &/or Customs on the way to Bali. Better by far to just use Tamper Tells &/or padlocks.

And take non-plastic bags from home for your shopping - don't have to be supermarket green bags - plenty of cheap bags available that fold up into very small sizes and several can easily fit into a handbag - eg IGA cloth bags.
