We have friends who live in a skiing & summer trout fishing resort area in the US. They're building a luxury home here in Perth & will spend half the year & half there. They spent a lot of time looking for a house swap deal in Bali (through the mentioned site & others). There was lots of interest in their US home but the properties offered in Bali were often laughable - either because of the standard or because of the exorbitant amounts the swapees wanted on top of the basic swap - and their home in the US is magnificent - some people wanted up to an extra $1KUS/week.
Our friends spend many weeks a year house swapping - currently in Oahu, Hawaii in a beautiful home.
Their experience is that house swapping is a great thing to do - but not in Bali.
