There are lots of warungs where you can get a decent feed for $2-5.00.
I.e. nasi/mie gorang 6-8000rp 80 cents to a dollar. but in fancier ones you will pay 30-45,000 and get the same meal.
$30.00 for a room at garden view sounds about right for a single person but there are a lot of back-packer type accommodation available in poppies 1 and 2 areas that you can get cheaper.
