We have bought both of these on different visits. We purchesed full size umbrellas a couple of years ago, and the seller cut the poles in half for us, the top umbrella parts come off easily to make packing easier. We also bought 6 smaller umbrellas last year, took the tops off and packed them and just taped all of the poles together to get them home aschecked in luggage. Just check the wood of the poles to make sure there are no borers, as you should with anything wooden. On both ocassions we just asked our driver to take us to a shop that sold umbrellas. We got good prices as they were from places that locals shopped at. The second place the owner did not speak english and I think that he was suprised that we wanted to by umbrellas we also got a few flags from this guy. I don't know where we bought them but it was on the way from Ubud to Tuban in a small village.
