Walking the streets down to Kuta works out longer, the beach route is less & faster. You should be ok with a pram going this way.
When in May will you be @ The Patra? We have booked for a 3 weeks stay in May! I cant suggest a particular room number, we are always stuck at the back or the side of the resort.
