Most hotels have electronic in house safes in the rooms or a group of security boxes in their foyers.
Only use your credit card as a back up, and then only to withdraw cash from a ATM.
Do not use your credit card to pay for meals or to purchase goods.
As for your last question, two people meals and quite a few Bintangs
$100 a day, if shopping allow more.
