For many years we used hats from the Cancer Council that can be used in as well as out of the water. Legionnaire style with a flap at the back and a peak at the front. They are made out of the same material as the rashies they sell.
These were very durable and lasted for a number of years. Just rinsed with fresh water after swimming.
Maybe you could purchase by mail order if you are not able to get to their shop in Subiaco.
