It was quite common back in the 80's for surfers to sell their boards to the surf shops in Kuta for extra spending money. They'd bring 2 and keep one handy for their own use during their hols. Actually they used to get enough to stay on in Bali for several weeks. I'm interested to see if this is still the case.
