This is not a prescription item. It comes from a US based company called Allergy Research Group. No, don't take it preventatively, just if you start having Bali belly symptoms. None of it is chemical but still very potent. If symptoms persist upon return home, of course I would get blood and stool tests done to treat specifically at that point.
