I didn't find the place too shabby, it was a bit old, but it was extremely clean, I was on ground floor in room 602. I didn't get asked to buy drugs once the whole time I was in bali, at all... i was there 9 nights.
Pools aren't huge, but they are clean and definately swimmable, the swim up bars are pretty cool, but the booze is a bit expensive. A bintang stubby was 24500 in the hotel all inclusive and you could get one for 11000 in any pub on the street... but your talking the difference between 1.30 and 2.80 or so.. so not huge amounts.
If you wanna party hard and drink heaps then you'll have a good time there, don't worry about it not being too flash.
