prepaid accommodation BGH

Have booked for Sept 08 and want to prepay but how do I go about this, do we pay over internet by credit card, send a cheque/money order or phone with credit card numbers.
If we don't prepay do we pay a deposit or the total when we are there? If when there at start or end of stay?
