If you want to make your purchase of a statue of the Buddha more personal to you, google the word, mudra. You should then see websites with illustrations of all the symbolic hand gestures and their meaning.
Print it out and take it with you to Bali to understand what the different Buddha statues you are looking at symbolise with their hand gesture.
