We just returned from our 6th trip to Bali.
Left Perth on 23rd February on the 9am flight from Perth.
The flight was ok, I am not actually keen on the whole flying business- but ofcourse it is a necessary evil!. Usually do it with a
Valium beforehand, but decided to be brave! (Never again)
We met up with the couple seated behind us on the plane at the Puri Raja (Wayne and Sharon), Wayne said he thought we were being really romantic on the plane, until my other half mentioned the fear and the nail marks in his arm!

The Puri Raja was great, we had stayed there last August for 2 weeks, so we knew what it was like. It was a great time of year to be at the Hotel. So much quieter than August (No Pool Chair Hogs - there was never enough people around the pool at any one time to worry about it)
We really like this Hotel. But when we go back in September, we are staying at the Nixsoma. Will be interesting to see whether it is worth the extra money.

Unpacked in our room, had our first drinks (Me - Southern Comfort, Husband - Jim Beam) then went out the front and caught a taxi to Bagus for our first cold cold Bintang. We always do this when we get to Bali, it has become a tradition now! Drank 2 each, then popped over the road to get some DVDs. Must Buy as soon as possible after getting to Bali, even though I am not actually a big movie watcher.
Just love buying them.
Walked down Poppies, stopping to get overcharged for 4 dresses and 2 shorts and tanktops. We always seem really lousy at bargaining the first time! Never mind, we seem to do it every time, so what the hell.

Went back to Hotel, (had another drink). Walked down to the Bintang Supermarket to buy a few things, plus a sim card for the phone.
Really was humid, by the time we got there, we were both drenched.
Picked up a few bits of toiletries, we are going out to Carrefour tommorrow to get a lot more. Called in shop closer to Hotel for a few Bintangs plus some Mix Max , which I love, and a few chips and munchies.

Went out to dinner that night at Seaside. I love this place, as they do the best Vegetarian meal I have ever eaten. It is Eggplant and Tofu, in a Tempura Batter. It is really Yummy. Husband had a nice meaty meal. (Only I am Vegie) Crashed back at the room fairly early.
It is always a tiring day when you have to get up early.

Went out to Carrefour the next morning after a breakfast of Bean and Egg on Toast.
Now we really did go mad out there. We bought everything from Martha Tillar, to Tea and Coffee - and Cheese/ Biscuits etc. Went through the checkout and realised very quickly that we would not have enough money!
Embarrassing! Husband went downstairs to driver to get him to take him back to Hotel for more money, and I stood with shopping. Husband was back within 5 mins though thank goodness - the driver lent us the money. Embarrassment over.

Ate at Drops second night, another of our favouites, the service is just wonderful and the food is our of this world. The presentation alone is enough to make you go back. Have to take photo of food to take home to Sister, who loves that sort of thing.

The rest of the week was spent either shopping (bought 4 pairs of shoes from Mata Haries) wondering around and laying by the pool.
We had our 14th Anniversary on the Tuesday, so we decided to go somewhere really special. Had heard a lot about the Living Room in Seminyak, so decided that would be the go.
Got there about 7.15 (By now it was poring with rain) It really is a beautiful place, but unfortunately they did not have anything Vegie at tall on the main meals, only 1 thing on Entre, which I did not really fancy. So we decided that as dissapointing as it was, we might as well just have a drink then go somewhere else.
We ordered a cocktail each and was asked if we wanted water (did not know we would have to pay). These were really strong, which was ok.We then asked for Bill, which was for 370.000 rp. Well, we were a little stunnned to be honest. Looked at Bill - added up quickly in head, and it should have been no more than 200.000. Waitress brought calculator over and still insisted that the bill was right. Eventually we realised that they had added the total, plus tax up, then added all three together!. Mind you even that only added up to 270.000. We were getting a little annoyed by now, so gave her 200.000 and left.
It all seemed like a lot of money just for 2 cocktails and water!

Never mind, we got a taxi to Nero's and had a lovely meal including drinks that came to about 200.000 for the whole lot!

Had a nice meal at Indo-National and also at the Stadium Bar in Kuta. We ate there while waiting for lists of DVDs to be done in Sakura, over the road.
I also had to go the dentist while we were there, as the mrning we were leaving, I lost a rather large filling from one of my fromt teeth. Went to Dr Rudy. He was great. Took about 20 minutes to do, and matched the rest of tooth perfectly. Was reaally impressed. It only cost 450.000 rp ($54).

All in all it was a great holiday. It was great to be in Bali again, even though it had only been 6 months.
We are looking forward to going back again in September with a large group of friends.
