it's not 'cheap' by bali standards but compared to aust it's cheap and has a high level of quality not found at most other places, has a fantastic SOGO aswell as many shops selling genuine fakes :) infact most of the shops there had your genuine fakes at expensive prices but some stuff we couldn't find at other places. Some fairly good restaurants there also.
well worth the trip, also has a free shuttle from a few hotels in Kuta area so may not cost anything to get there if u catch shuttle! :) Also they have a hot air balloon ride there which we had a fantastic time on!
