The very best cooking class in Bali is by the Dutch chef Heinz Von Holzen at the Bumbu Bali restaurant. I think this may be in near by Kuta but definitely not to be missed if you really want a great cooking/learning about food experience. You can always get a driver to take you there and for that I would only use Dewa Alit--the best!!
