Jet* is a con. I have flown heaps since late 2006 with them ex Melbourne to Bali and I have noticed a pricing creep which is more than the fuel surcharges etc.
If booking from Bali to Oz they charge in USD but in fine print and their exchange rate difference from bank amounted to over $AUD50 in their miserable pockets if you merrily let their site convert.
I am thinking their latest ploy of an even cheaper ticket with no checkin is aimed to have you booking this going over and booking a checked luggage ticket on the way back and this is where they will pickup on exchange rate.
The best way to beat them at this is to make sure you choose that your bank converts. Having said that if there is a large fall suddenly in AUD to USD then you would win and not Jet* by having them convert.
They also employ additional security checks in Denpasar - good - but means that you get your water confiscated at first check similar to Oz so you buy another bottle inside and this gets taken at the gate so you arrive on the plane with no fluids (well except for the duty free which you are prohibited from drinking). If you are happy drinking water all the way home it is free but if you thought any ther drink would be good then you have to buy from Jet*.
There is no way I would fly Jet* on any other international route as 5+ hours is quite enough.
