Our last trip we went to Phuket and Bali via Singapore. We used three airlines and it ended up costing us just under A$1000 each. We flew out of Brisbane on Etihad on their opening special, Stayed the night in Singapore, flew out next night to Phuket on Jetstar which was our cheapest leg as was just lucky as we got a S$38 and A$49 fare plus taxes, flew back to Singapore and then next night flew to Bali with Garuda. We usually fly with Singapore Airlines but this time it was cheaper to use three airlines. Don't know if we would do it again though spent a lot of time sitting around airports. It all depends what specials the airlines are giving at the time.
