The second floor at Discovery has a lady there that does them. You get to sit in the a/cond while she does them. She is very fast but it still took about 1.5hrs to do my daughters just below shoulder length hair. The braids were perfect, quite tiny and all the same size and were extremely tidy. You have a choice of rubberbands or tinfoil. Rubberbands I'm told can sometimes melt, so we went for tinfoil. I think we paid about Rp150,000 which is probably more than you'd pay at the beach, but the air cond and the excellent job that was done was worth the extra Rupiah. We have taken them out this week (due to school next week) and it took me a while, but the tinfoil is so much easier than trying to remove rubberbands. Also where the lady does the hair braiding, they do fancy nails, there is a guy doing henna tattoo's and a massage lady, so the rest of the family can join in.
