If beaches are important to you, the good beaches in the Amed area begin at Lipah bay. So although there are some good places to stay like Apa Kabar and Santai in Bunutan...Or Puri Wirata and Anda Amed and Dancing Dragon. These are all set on or above stoney and shingly beaches and rocks.
Lipah, Lean and Selang all have sandy beaches and great snorkling.
Life in Amed is on the beach at Lean and is lovely.
In Lipah there is also Coral View and Pondok Vienna as well as Bayu.
Blue Moon is at Selang. They have just opened 4 fantastic new rooms, all with incredible ocean views. Also a new swimming pool.
The beach beyond there is also gorgeous.. with Reincarnasi bungalows.
There is a great new restaurant "Sails"opened in Lean.
