Hi Folks, well here we go again.....

Day 11 (I think)

I awoke to the realisation that we are going to Ubud today and then to Tanah Lot, I have my usual run and HUGE breakfast, I just can't seem to get enough of the yellow watermelon it is the best!!!!!

Now generally my wife would say no I am not going I have already been to Ubud, however, with the prospect of more shopping on offerings she was all systems go.

We jump on the bus and head straight to Ubud and the marketplace, I decide that before I go into the Markets I will take a walk around the town, it is a great little town, some wonderful shops and lovely people.

After about an hour I head to the Markets, and I know what I am looking for.... so I head up to an old lady and ask the price of something, she tells me and I laugh (you know the fake laugh you do when the price is way too high), anyway, I finish the fake laugh and give her my price which was a great starting price, it was the same price my wife paid the other day..... silence... then I expected her to do the fake laugh... silence... I was contemplating checking for a pulse... finally she started yelling at me, called me evil, tried to swat me with her broom and spat on the floor in front of me!!!! I got out of there real quick.....

As I was walking in the markets with my youngest daughter one of the fools on a motorbike decided he would drive straight for her and hit her, just as I raised my arm to knock him off his bike, I noticed he had a small child on there with him... my daughter was OK so no harm done.

We managed to purchase a heap of wooden and metal articles from Ubud it is a great place if you like all that kind of stuff, at a bargain price (or a good for me, good for you price), also across the road from the carpark there is a small pub, go in and have a milkshake, you will not be disappointed!!!

We said goodbye to Ubud and managed to thread our way to Tanah Lot, we picked a great time to travel over here as this was the first day (slaughter day) of the Balinese Xmas, it is a 3 day festive season, all the houses had the decorations out front and our guide was explaining everything to us as we went along.

We arrived at Tanah Lot and instantly you feel a presence hjere, it is a wonderful place, very spiritual, and the Temple is magnificent, we went through the markets there, which offer great bargains as well. I went down to the temple and recieved the blessing from the Priests, also my wife and daughters did. I was asking the priest if he had a blessing that takes away the power and desire to shop, he just smiled and gave me a vegemite sandwich (he didn't but a good line from a song)

My youngest daughter then went up and patted the holy snake, I think it is a holy snake because when you see the size of it I went HOLY S^%t......

We finished at Tanah Lot next time I am in Bali (which may be mid year) I will go for the sunset.

Exhausted from the day I managed to go to Goody's for dinner again as it is close and simple (not the people the food)

Day 12

I awoke this morning which is Balinese Xmas and went for a run through the streets, they were empty... So back to Melasti for breakfast Omlettes and yellow watermelon, I even had some poached eggs, very nice.

The kids were excited as this was the day we were going to Waterbom park..... we ventured out the front and managed to summons one of the open aired transport buses, he took about 12 of us to Waterbom pumping out some loud music that had all the pedestraians dancing and waving to us, very funny indeed.

We got to Waterbom and we all had an absolute ball, make sure you take the kids there it is magnificent fun for kids and adults alike, the colada in a pineapple by all reports from my wife is THE BEST IN BALI!!!

We stayed until about 5.30pm and dragged ourtselves over to Centro for the next BIG surprise......

Folks I would never ever advocate this kind of food however do yourselves a big favour and go to Centro and buy the Krispy Kreme donuts. I had Mango filled, white chocolate, cappuccino, chocolate peanut filled and unlike in Australia when they say filled it is oozzing out all over you, god bless them I miss them already. Krispy Kreme Australia take note, make them the Bali way and you will triple your sales, awesome flavour and cheap price, about 55000rp for a dozen filled ones.

Never went to dinner tonight as my dear wife has contracted the good ol Bali Butt......... so I just ate the Krispy Kremes that somehow managed to follow us back to our rooms.

Just a side note we were offered Transport back to our Motel at a cheap rate, the van pulled up and the windows were tinted very dark, I opened the sliding door to see that there was 2 men sitting in the back of the van, I told the bloke I don't travel wiuth anyone else he said no no it OK, I said OK well let me call over the Police and we see if it OK, he took of at a fast rate, folks don't get into a van with anyone!!!

We all caught taxis back, I had a great driver we were last to go, he said to me "your friends up front", I said "Yep", he said "I beat them".. and beat them he did, he earned his tip he was great. I only ever caught the light blue bluebird taxis very friendly clean and reliable.

Day 13

Well folks we all awoke this morning to my wife and youngest daughter with the Bali Butt, my Youngest daughter slept all day, my wife well she soldiered on with about a half day of shopping, yes folks, the demons were still intact, she was still shopping!!!!!

We ventured out into the street for a walk around everywhere, I was explaining to her how to do the cheek squeeze dash or the poop scoot, she didn't find it funny, although I rememeber her laughing when I had to run home!!! Go figure.

We had to go back to our room my wife had to excuse herself to go to the toilet... good lord what a commotion there was grunts, gurgles the odd swear word, I am sure I heard a voice say no no don't flush me!!!!!

When she came out I questioned her about it, she said dont be silly you idiot, I looked into it folks and I put 2 and 2 together, you see I asked her then and there did she want to come shopping with us to Centro, she said no she was all shopped out... folks it was a mixture of Bali Butt and also the Demon Shopper in her being exorcised, that is what the gurgling, swearing and second voice from the crapper was....

Armed with the wisdom that I am now chief shopper, I rounded up my eldest daughter and went to Centro, folks I had all intentions of buying a heap of stuff, but I felt guilty it just wasn't the same, so we went to Carrefours and I brought my wife some Marth Tillar products.

Gentleman take note, if your wife is sick and you buy her things NEVER EVER buy her Martha Tilaar heavy duty wrinkle cream, Christ she hits hard!!!!!

Hitting me was the best medicine for her because she managed to get up and we all went to Glory's for the RIBS, folks I can't flaw them they were magnificent, I enjoyed every last bit of them, the BEST RIBS ever. We all caught the glory bus home and slept very very well.

Throughout all these days we had numerous massages, facials, manicure, pedicure etc etc, make sure you spil yoursleves and keep on getting them, they are absolute bees knees.... find a good place and stick to them!!! I will summarise at thend of the JBR's

I will finish the report up tomorrow as the trip is coming to an end, until then Bali on baby!!!
