A few years back I bought a full street directory of Bali, which at the time was the first release of its kind, similar to the format you would be used to, all streets,established eateries, tourist attractions, basically everything. I dont know how widespread availability is but I scored mine from the Bintang Supermarket Seminyak. I agree it can be fun getting lost and seeing different things, but this can also be a complete pain in the butt especially if you get caught in afternoon traffic chaos.
