It's nice. The deluxe rooms are a bit bigger than the superior. WAtch out though as you dont want the front building rooms you want the ones that are next to the Elysian villas. This is because the new apartments - Anantara- have been built right in front of the first block of hotel rooms. So no view and quite dim. The pool is nice, the restaurant not so good and quite pricey (there used to be a Thai restaurant, run by a well known - and much applauded - Aussie chef, but that has gone). The brekkie is good. The Anantara also affects the pool a little.
You can walk up to Kudeta and La Lucciola for brekkie, along the beach. Also right next door is Gado Gado. Great restaurant. I think the spa at sofitel is a little expensive. However hte overall location of the hotel is great and I would have stayed there this time - I leave on Saturday - but with Chinese New Year - the price was exorbitant even with the Accor card.
