My American friend has been sponsoring thru Rotary for the past 3 or 4 years. She either gives me cash when she visits and I transfer into the Rotary account or she does a money transfer from USA.
As Balibabe said, it wont be tax deductible and will cost a little more in bank fees to transfer the money but its easily do-able.
