I take my fish plucking weight scales and check prior. Pay prior Kgs - most Ive never used to be in the policy limits.
Then near get knocked over getting to my seat "on board" with travellers armed with everything to put in the over heads in the cabin. Ive seen folk with their knees trembling lift stuff up and down. Must be some new gym exercise !!
Yet im sure they all paid their excess.
